Meeting Minutes – December 8, 2009

The meeti= ng started promptly at 6:30

Charlie S= tevens facilitated the meeting.

Charlie o= pened in prayer.

DSS (Tina Merritt) spoke about the following items.

Space Heater Safety

National = Adoption Day

&nbs= p;

Training = was done by Jessica Terrill – Investigator

&nbs= p;

Kids come= into protective custody.

        &= nbsp;   Law enforcement, JO, Doctor.

        &= nbsp;   Kids come in – investigator starts calling emergency parents

Ask Quest= ions but understand that the worker may not know much.

Kids come= in it can be chaotic so understand that intake may not know anything unless DSS h= as previous history on the child or family.

DSS will = Set up an FST

Foster pa= rent must get child to doctor for check within first 24 hours.=

Should get good contact information from the worker or investigator.= &nb= sp; If cannot get a hold of anyone call the hotline and ask for the on-c= all for the county you live in.

        &= nbsp;   Hotline on a foster parent.

Investiga= tor is from somewhere else

Case is t= reated just like a regular case but investigated by and outside group within DSS

Cannot leave child in a car if child is under age 11 in Missouri and a child of 14 or over is required to watch any children in the car under 14.
